All children love to move, to play, to stretch their bodies and if they can't they love to look around, to listen and to feel. There is always a benefit to be had in a yoga class for children with additional support needs. There are always movements to be made and relaxation techniques that when learned can be of long lasting benefit. Yoga speaks the universal language of smiles, sound and touch, helping children learn to receive and use touch for body awareness and calming. For children with autism who are extremely visual learners, yoga lends itself to a visual curriculum with postures inspired by the natural world. Yoga fosters the imagination and as such verbal instructions are given sparingly, giving the child space and time to foster their own inner calm.
the 1st block of classes began on the 3rd September and will run for 6 weeks ending on the 8th October. The total cost for a 6 week block currently is £19.80 at full price, £9.90 with a concession card (via Leisure for All) or inclusive with an ACE membership.  Spaces limited.
Anyone interested in attending this current block would simply call the number on the flyer to book then pay for the remaining sessions of the current block at Stewartfield when attending their first session. Alternatively for anyone interested but not willing to commit up front to a block payment; they would call to book their place but then utilise 1 free taster session per participant as a try before you buy.
